Quality Assurance, Food Safety & Regulatory

Reports to: Quality Manager

Job Description & Responsibilities:

We are looking for a reliable, hard working team member to help us ensure the products we produce meet our customers specifications. QA techs execute daily activities to include assessing incoming materials, plant processes, labeling, final inspections, and sanitation verification.

Responsible for all aspects of food safety and quality as defined in plant and departmental procedures including, but not limited to:

  • Collecting, analyzing and evaluating samples from each step of the process
  • Holding product based on specifications and product knowledge
  • Monitoring and approving production equipment after sanitation, start up and performance using observation and swab techniques
  • Performing audits on Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the plant
  • Prepare and review paperwork based on process evaluations
  • Investigating root cause for incidents impacting food quality or safety
  • Communicating findings to supervisor

Education and Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:
Job Type: Full-Time

  • Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Ability to follow work procedures with detail even when under pressure
  • Flexible work schedule with the ability to work weekends and open to overtime as needed
  • Ability to operate in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize and self-pace to complete daily tasks
  • Minimum 1-2 years in food manufacturing
  • Quality Assurance or Quality Control in a food production or processing environment
  • Bakery experience is a plus
  • Ability to complete basic Microsoft Office Tasks

Reports to: Sanitation Manager

Job Description & Responsibilities:

We are looking for a reliable, hands on worker to assist the sanitation manager with ensuring that the sanitation tasks are completed in compliance with the Master Sanitation Schedule.  Job tasks to include coordination of sanitation team throughout the shift, monitoring use of PPE, distribution of chemicals, auditing of tasks completed while maintaining an active presence on the production floor.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing support to workers in their roles
  • Retraining on SSOPs
  • Reporting of necessary tools / assistance needed
  • Taking initiative towards improving standards of cleanliness through hands on involvement with sanitation practices
  • Assuring Sanitation equipment is maintained, operational, correctly used
  • Communicating shift changeovers with sanitation and other department counterparts
  • Completing necessary paperwork and reports as needed
  • Audits completion of assigned sanitation tasks
  • Communicating with production supervisors to determine priorities for cleaning
  • Ensuring employee practices adhere to food safety plans and GMP policies

Education and Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:

Job Description & Responsibilities:

Joseph’s Bakery is seeking a warehouse employee to assist in the crossdocking of product for the storage warehouse to the bakery.

  • Employee must be able to drive a manual box truck and have a DOT medical card.
  • Employee must be proficient at operating an electric counterbalanced reach lift.
  • Employee must be proficient at operating an electric pallet jack.
  • Ensure all product is pulled in rotation based receive date.
  • Ensure that all product delivered to production is in good condition and any debris or particulate is clean off before it is delivered.
  • Ensure that all appropriate paperwork is completed in a detailed and accurate manner.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Assist the warehouse manager with other duties as assigned.
  • Employee must be neat and organized.
  • Employee must have basic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Person must be professional, detail oriented, and able to process information to provide an efficient flow of goods for production.
  • Employee must follow all rules and regulations of our HACCP plan.

Education and Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Forklift Certified on an Electric Counterbalance Reach Lift

  • Employee must be a liaison between first and second shift warehouse staff ensure that any information that needs to communicated between shifts is done in an affective and timely manner.
  • Employee needs to anticipate the needs of their employees to assist them in completely their tasks in a timely thorough manner.
  • Employee must be proficient at operating an electric counterbalanced reach lift.
  • Employee must be proficient at operating an electric pallet jack.
  • Ensure all product is pulled in rotation based receive date.
  • Ensure that all product being delivered to production is in good condition and any debris or particulate is clean off before it is delivered.
  • Verify that all appropriate paperwork completed by employees is fully correct and complete.
  • Bilingual is required.
