Quality Assurance, Food Safety & Regulatory

Reports to: Quality Manager

Job Description & Responsibilities:

We are looking for a reliable, hard working team member to help us ensure the products we produce meet our customers specifications. QA techs execute daily activities to include assessing incoming materials, plant processes, labeling, final inspections, and sanitation verification.

Responsible for all aspects of food safety and quality as defined in plant and departmental procedures including, but not limited to:

  • Collecting, analyzing and evaluating samples from each step of the process
  • Holding product based on specifications and product knowledge
  • Monitoring and approving production equipment after sanitation, start up and performance using observation and swab techniques
  • Performing audits on Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the plant
  • Prepare and review paperwork based on process evaluations
  • Investigating root cause for incidents impacting food quality or safety
  • Communicating findings to supervisor

Job Type: Full-Time

Education and Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:

  • Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Ability to follow work procedures with detail even when under pressure
  • Flexible work schedule with the ability to work weekends and open to overtime as needed
  • Ability to operate in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize and self-pace to complete daily tasks
  • Minimum 1-2 years in food manufacturing
  • Quality Assurance or Quality Control in a food production or processing environment
  • Bakery experience is a plus
  • Ability to complete basic Microsoft Office Tasks

Job Description & Responsibilities:

The maintenance mechanic position conducts machine troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service. Three shifts are available.

  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and sanitary work area.
  • Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’S).
  • Must be able to fill out corresponding paperwork.
  • Must adhere to work order schedules and properly communicate any issues to mechanics on other shifts during changeover.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:

  • Must have moderate to advanced knowledge & skill in manufacturing equipment and mechanics.
  • 1-3 years’ technical experience with similar machinery.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend basic instructions and process of the job.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Must be willing and able to cross-train.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

To properly set up, maintain and operate machinery. You’ll ensure the continuous and efficient running of production.

  •  Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production.
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed).
  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
  • Test operation of machines periodically.
  • Fix minor issues that might occur during the shift that do not require Maintenance or Engineering involvement.
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
  • Maintain activity logs.
  • Must work safely at all times- Maintain a clean, safe and sanitary work area.
  • Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’S).
  • Other duties as assigned.

WAREHOUSE

Job Description & Responsibilities:

Joseph’s Bakery is seeking a warehouse employee to assist in the replenishment of product for the production team, and to clean and organize the warehouse.

  • Employee must be proficient at operating an electric counterbalanced reach lift.
  • Employee must be proficient at operating an electric pallet jack.
  • Ensure all product is pulled in rotation based receive date.
  • Ensure that all product delivered to production is in good condition and any debris or particulate is clean off before it is delivered.
  • Ensure that all appropriate paperwork is completed in a detailed and accurate manner.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Assist the warehouse manager with other duties as assigned.
  • Employee must be neat and organized.
  • Employee must have basic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Person must be professional, detail oriented, and able to process information to provide an efficient flow of goods for production.
  • Employee must follow all rules and regulations of our HACCP plan.

Education and Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:

  • Employee must have basic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Excel.
